Serial Drunk Driver Sentenced For Killing Pedestrian In Crash On South Coast

A South Coast resident is heading to prison for a fatal accident which took the life of a 91-year-old pedestrian.

Nicholas Hart was found to be drunk at the wheel of the vehicle involved with the collision in Santa Barbara.

His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Hart has two prior DUI convictions behind him, and was driving on a suspended license.

The victim who was struck was an evacuee from the Montecito Debris Flow, and was walking at the crosswalk to his hotel where he was staying.

Hart was sentenced to 15 years, 8 months in prison.
