For Second Time This Month, Hit And Run Death In Ventura County Leads To Murder Charge

For the second time this month, what police called a suspicious hit and run death in Ventura County has led to an arrest on a murder charge.

On May 11th, Ricardo Torres Rojas was hit by a vehicle on Bluebell Street, in Oxnard.  He died at a hospital a short time later.  The vehicle which hit the 30 year old Oxnard man fled the scene.

Oxnard Police detectives talked to witness and found video which they say showed it was an intentional attack, and that the victim was dragged for about a block.  A man investigators say was the driver, Pedro Guzman Gutierrez was arrested Wednesday night for murder.  There's no word on what they think led to the incident.

On Tuesday, a man was arrested for another hit and run related death in Oxnard this month which investigators are also calling a murder.
