Police in one South Coast community are doing more than looking for criminals, and handing out tickets this week.
Santa Barbara Police are giving out bicycles, helmets, and stuffed animals to some children in need the encounter during the holiday season. Tri-County Produce, and other businesses and community members came together to donate, and assemble the items.
Santa Barbara Police Officer Craig Burleigh organized the effort, which is intended to help families with children which have been hit by hardship, tragedy, or crime.
