A man working on a car is recovering after receiving multiple burns in a fire Thursday night.
The mechanic was at Mastercraft Motors Autobody Shop in Santa Barbara.
Residents nearby say they heard an explosion, and one resident said that the man came out of the business smoking and on fire.
Another resident came out of his house and rendered aid to the injured man, but said he was badly hurt.
Santa Barbara City Fire sent multiple agents to the scene to deal with the medical emergency, as well as the vehicle fire, which had extended into the structure.
The cause of the incident hasn't been determined, while damage has been estimated in excess of $20,000.
