The first of six digital community meetings will be held this month to solicit public opinion on cannabis.
Santa Barbara County is allowing the public to chime in on the location of cannabis retailer storefronts in six areas of the unincorporated zone of Santa Barbara County.
There would be one license for each of the six areas: Isla Vista, the Santa Ynez Valley, the Toro Canyon/Summerland area, Orcutt, the eastern Goleta Valley, and Los Alamos.
The first meeting will deal with Goleta, and will take place Wednesday at 5:30 online.
The county has said that it is applying a merit-based criteria for its applicants. One of the key reasons for the meetings are to see if there is neighborhood compatibility.
