A congressman from the Central and South Coasts who was among those on hand for today’s presidential inauguration says the new administration is not wasting time in getting to work.

Democratic Congressman Salud Carbajal says we should watch for a number of executive orders and policy proposals to come out in the next few days.  Carbajal says there are big initiatives to take on the COVID-19 crisis, immigration reform, and environmental issues.

Carbajal says it was exciting to have a front row seat to history.   But, he admits it was more subdued than past inaugurations, because the crowd size had to be limited because of COVID-19 and security concerns.

The congressman says it’s exciting to known the new administration gives high priority to some big issues in our region, like environmental protections and immigration reform.
