The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Ventura County is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Hundreds of people were on hand for a special commemorative event Friday.
There was music, and speeches by dignitaries like former U.S. Attorney General Ed Meese, and former Secretary of State George Shultz.
Former California Governor Pete Wilson was the master of ceremonies for the library’s November 4th, 1991 dedication, and says it’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since five former presidents gathered to celebrate the facility’s opening.
The anniversary celebration was capped with the unveiling of a new bronze statue of President Reagan. The Reagans are buried at the 240,000 square foot facility, which has hosted millions of visitors during its quarter of a century long history.
