Red Flag Wind Conditions Expected To Remain Concern For South Coast Through Midday Sunday

Gusty wind creating a high brush fire potential remains a big concern for the South Coast, with planned power outages still a possibility.  

Southern Santa Barbara County could potentially face wind in the 50 mile an hour range, with stronger gusts in the foothills.  The peak wind is expected between now and midday Sunday.

The winds are expected to shift south, creating elevated brush fire conditions for Ventura and Los Angeles County mountains Sunday and Monday.

Southern California Edison has a number of areas in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties which could potentially face public safety power shutoffs.

Edison officials say two of its Community Crew vehicles will be deployed to Santa Barbara County on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

  • CCV 2: Eastside Branch Library - 1102 E Montecito St, Santa Barbara, CA 933103

The vehicles will have PSPS updates, the ability charge your phones, and snacks and water.
