Red Flag Warning For High Brush Fire Danger Remains In Effect For South Coast Sunday

The South Coast made it through most of the weekend without predicted high winds materializing, but a Red Flag Warning for potential problems remains in effect for much of the region until 10 p.m. Sunday.  The possibility of Public Safety Power Shutoffs also remains for thousands of Southern California Edison customers in the region.

National Weather Service meterologists say they don't expect the danger to ease for the mountains, and foothills of Southern Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County until late Sunday night.

As of noon, wind was less than ten miles an hour on San Marcos Pass, and in Montecito, and humidity was in the 25-35% range.

The potential power shutoff areas in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties have changed multiple times since first being announced late last week.  Here is the current status:  www.sce.com/safety/wildfire/psps
