Popular South Coast Trails Remain Closed After 1/9 Disaster

Hikers have lost some of their favorite areas in our local hills.

Trails have been wiped out by both the Thomas Fire and the 1/9 disaster mudflow.

The trails, like Hot Springs, Cold Springs, Romero and San Ysidro, are in areas next to drainages and creeks.

Those were blown out by the violent weather on January 9th.

The forest service says it will evaluate the hiking areas after the winter weather events pass through.
