Popular Community Pool On South Coast Closed By Coronavirus Crisis Reopening

A popular community pool on the South Coast that's been closed for weeks by the coronavirus crisis is set to reopen, but with a number of rules to prevent the spread of the virus.

The City of Santa Barbara's Los Banos del Mar pool will reopen Tuesday.

The eight-decade-old pool will be open by reservation only.  Swimmers will be assigned to a specific lane, which they will be able to use for an hour.  The pool's staff will disinfect high use areas of the facility regularly.

No spectators will be allowed, and all locker room and shower facilities will be closed.  Reservations can be made through the Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation website, where a full list of rules is available.
