Pair Of Missiles Launched From Central Coast In What's Called Successful Test Of Defense System

Two missiles were launched from the Central Coast in what the Pentagon called a successful test of a defense system.

The missiles were launched in quick succession from Vandenberg Air Force just after 10:30 Monday morning.

The first missile hit and destroyed a payload deployed from a test missile in the South Pacific.

Because the primary target was destroyed, the second missile ended up destroying some of the debris. The idea was to test the ability to stop a missile deployed against the U.S.
