Oxnard Man Gets 36 Years To Life Sentence For What Prosecutors Say Was Intentional Hit And Run Death

A Ventura County man has been sentenced to a 36 years to life in state prison after being convicted of what prosecutors say was an intentional hit and run killing with a pickup truck. Juan Dedios Gallegos III was convicted of second degree murder for the May, 2019 death of Michael James Holley in an Oxnard alley.

It was initially reported as an accident. But, Oxnard Police detectives say a surveillance video, and witness accounts showed that the 26 year old man meant to hit Holley.
