The overflowing Ventura River flooded parts of an RV park and a campground in Ventura yesterday, but it caused more problems than just some evacuations. No one was hurt, but the Ventura County Environmental Health Division reports there was a more than 4500 gallon sewage spill.
Officials say there was a roughly 4500 gallon discharge at the Ventura Beach RV resort, and a 50 gallon spill at the Emma Wood State Beach Group Camps.
Environmental Health specialists had already issued a warning for people to avoid body contact with storm water and ocean water at all of the county’s beaches for the next few days due to bacterial contamination from the runoff.
