Officer-Involved Shooting In San Fernando Valley Linked To Search For Missing Central Coast Boy

Authorities have been looking for Daniel Morozov, a nine year old missing boy from Santa Maria

An officer involved shooting in the San Fernando Valley appears to be linked to an Amber Alert for a missing boy from the Central Coast.

LAPD officers say a man was wounded  in a confrontation in Tarzana Tuesday night.

The Ambr Alert was issued early Tuesday morning for Daniel Morozov, who is missing, and is believed to be with his father, Konstantin Morozov. Santa Maria Police were called to the 200 block of North College Drive Monday night by reports of a shooting. They found the body of a woman, whose name wasn’t released, but she is said to be the boy’s mother. Authorities are calling Morozov a “person of interest” in the fatal shooting.

Police were originally searching for one vehicle, but then determined Morozov switched to a second vehicle, a SUV. Today, that SUV was found in a Santa Barbara neighborhood, and then, the shooting occured in Tarzana this evening. There's no word yet on if the boy has been found.
