Number Of New Coronavirus Cases Reported On Central, South Coasts Dips

There’s some encouraging coronavirus news on the Central and South Coasts.  Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties are reporting the lowest numbers of new cases that they have had in days.

Ventura County had 50 new diagnosed cases, Santa Barbara County 16, and San Luis Obispo County 23.

But, Santa Barbara County officials caution that issues with the state’s database system may mean numbers are underreported.  More than 18,100 cases have now been reported in the region since the start of the coronavirus crisis.

The number of deaths stands at 184, with 93 in Ventura County, 74 in Santa Barbara County, and 17 in San Luis Obispo County. That total includes one new death in Santa Barbara County, a person in the 70’s with preexisting health issues.
