Number Of Confirmed Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Tops 600

The Central and South Coasts have now topped 600 confirmed coronavirus cases.  Health officials say so far, a feared large spike in numbers in the region hasn’t occurred.

There are now 621 confirmed cases in the region.  Ventura County has 274, an increase of 11 over Wednesday.  San Luis Obispo County is at 102, up just two cases.  Santa Barbara County stands at 243 cases, 15 more than Wednesday. 

Ventura County Public Health Officer Dr. Robert Levin says social distancing appears to be making a major difference in slowing the spread of the virus.

There have been ten coronavirus related deaths on the Central and South Coasts, with all of the victims seniors with pre-existing health issues.
