There are now more than 40 documented coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts, and officials say we expect to see the number continue to rise before the crisis ends. The latest numbers as of Friday night show that we have 44 cases on the Central and South Coasts: 19 in Ventura County, nine in Santa Barbara County, and 16 in San Luis Obispo County.
Ventura County Public Health Officer Dr. Robert Levin says we will likely see more cases for the next few weeks, until the impacts of the stay at home orders kick in. Levin says most people seem to be cooperating with the stay at home orders.
But, he emphasizes the situation and the threat are real, and people need to take it seriously. As far as testing is concerned, they are still reserved for people showing serious symptoms.
If you are sick, you should check with your healthcare provider who will decide if you are at the point where testing is warranted.
