The new Santa Barbara Police Mobile Command Unit has been unveiled after a large donation from two non-profit groups.
The Police Foundation and One805 combined for over $300,000, while the city contributed $60,000, for upgrades to the large specialized motor home that serves as mobile command.
That will help commanders in the field navigate incidents and crisis negotiations.
Part of the funding from One805 came from their Kick Ash Bash, a fundraising concert that took place after the Thomas Fire and Montecito Mudflow and was attended by more than 2000 people.
The concert was headlined by pop star Katy Perry, comedians Ellen Degeneres and Dennis Miller, as well as musicians Kenny Loggins and Alan Parsons.
That event alone had raised $2 million.
