New Survey Says Central Coast City Most Expensive In Country To Buy Retirement Home

A new survey says the most expensive place in the country for people retiring to buy a home is on the Central Coast.

The website Realtor.com reports the median home price in San Luis Obispo is $729,000.

The survey says more than 25% of the city’s residents are now over 60. It’s followed by Santa Rosa, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The list says the most affordable place is Sebring, Florida with a median home price of just $180,000. The report says more and more people will be looking for retirement homes, with 10,000 baby boomers a day hitting age 65.
