New Details Arrested About Fatal Shooting, Chase In Ventura County

Police have released new details about a string of confrontations which led to a fatal shooting, and a car chase in Ventura.

It started around 4:15 Wednesday, on the 4000 block of East Main Street. Two men in one car and four people in another had three separate confrontations. Ventura Police detectives say during the third confrontation, three shots were fired at the vehicle containing two men. Cameron Miller of Oxnard was fatally wounded, and a 21 year old Oxnard man was seriously wounded.

About a half hour later, a patrol officer near Victoria Avenue, and Telephone Road spotted the car with the suspects in the shooting. It led to a chase hitting speeds of 100 miles an hour and a crash.

Three of the suspects were arrested at the scene, and a fourth was caught about two hours later. The three men and a teenage girl are facing murder, attempted murder, and other charges.
