It was a good day Tuesday when it comes to the number of new coronavirus cases reported on the Central and South Coasts, with totals on the low side.
Ventura County has 33 new cases, Santa Barbara County 23, and San Luis Obispo County 25. State guidelines call for keeping the number of new cases as well as the positivity rate of new cases low for a three week period for a county to advance to more reopenings.
Under the state’s new color coded ranking systems, all three counties are currently at the purple level, the furthest from full reopening.
Two additional coronavirus related deaths were reported Tuesday. They were both in Santa Barbara County. It brings the county’s total to 95, and the region’s total to 229. Ventura County had 116, and San Luis Obispo 20.
