Channel Islands National Park has a new superintendent, but it’s someone who is already a familiar face in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. The National Park Service promoted Acting Superintendent Ethan McKinley to the post overseeing five islands.
McKinley was appointed as Acting Superintendent last July. He took over for longtime Superintendent Russell Galipeau who retired in June.
McKinley has been with the Park Service for more than a decade. Before coming to California, he was Superintendent of First State National Historical Park in Delaware.
