A car chase led to an officer involved shooting, and the death of the driver in Ventura County.
Only a few details have been released, but the chase started just after 7 Thursday night in Oxnard. Police were chasing a vehicle which left Oxnard and headed into Ventura.
Ventura Police took over the chase. The vehicle was disabled near Harbor Boulevard and Seaward Avenue. Ventura Police say when the driver got out of the vehicle, there was a confrontation. They say a Ventura Police officer shot, and fatally wounded the man.
There’s no word on why the man was fleeing police. No one else was hurt.
