Santa Barbara Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a suspect who reportedly brandished a gun during an armed robbery in Isla Vista on Wednesday.
The robbery took place at around 4:30 in the afternoon at Buddha Bowls health food restaurant.
The suspect reportedly lifted his shirt to display the black pistol, and was able to get cash and then leave.
Described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or 30s and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, the suspect was last scene running toward Del Playa.
The exact amount of money taken was unknown.
Multiple Sheriff's Deputies arrived and fanned out on foot in search of the suspect, as well as reviewing footage from the restaurant, but they were unable to find him.
The UC Santa Barbara and Isla Vista communities, which had been quiet over the holiday period, are now fully repopulated with the restart of the academic quarter.
