Santa Barbara County firefighters rescue an injured man who fell down a cliff in the San Marcos Pass area

Authorities are trying to figure out what led to a man falling down a cliff into a culvert in Santa Barbara County, leaving him critically injured.  Santa Barbara County firefighters and Sheriff's deputies were called to Painted Cave Road, in the San Marcos Pass area at around 11 Thursday night by reports of an injured man in a culvert.

They found a man who had apparently fallen 25 feet down a cliff, and was badly injured.  Firefighters and search and sescue team members had to rig ropes to reach, and extricate the victim from the culvert.  His name hasn’t been released.  There's no word on how long the man may have been stuck in the culvert.
