Man Accused Of Setting Brush Fires On South Coast

A man has been arrested for arson following a pair of brush fires west of Ventura.

Ventura County firefighters were called to the area west of Solimar Beach Saturday afternoon. One fire burned about two acres of brush, and a second a small spot. A Ventura County air unit called to the scene to help deal with the blazes spotted a man in the area.

Torry Fisher was picked up for questioning, and Sheriff’s deputies say the 39 year old man admitted starting the blazes. The fires were stopped before they could damage homes, or other structures.
