Santa Barbara's Downtown Organization has parted ways with one of its longtime staff members and organizers Kate Schwab.
Schwab left the group this week; no reason for her departure was provided.
Schwab had been with the organization for 15 years and had been the Marketing Director in charge of various events.
Among her areas of concern were events including a holiday parade, a spring art and wine tour, and other events to drive customers to downtown Santa Barbara.
Her departure comes at the same time as a highly anticipated holiday night market, which drew 250,000 people last year, had to be cancelled.
The cancellation is attributed to a dispute between the organizers and the Paseo Nuevo mall where it was scheduled to be hosted.
