On November 27, a 6.7 magnitude earthquake in Albania killed 51 people, injured many more, and left thousands without homes.
Mission Without Borders, a nonprofit on the South Coast, is working across continents to help those in need.
The faith-based aid group has been based in Camarillo for more than three decades. They have long connections to Eastern Europe, and offers aid of all sorts to residents there.
“Presently we are helping them with hygiene and food and blankets and even mattresses, to help them in any way that we can,” says International Finance Manager Tami Soria.
Soria says that in the aftermath of the 6.7 magnitude quake, there’s a lot to do.
“The earthquake has really hit very hard - buildings and everything – and they’re still digging people out,” Soria says. “There’s a lot of work to be done, and that’s why we’re here.”
