Letter Carriers Asking For Public's Help In Weekend Food Drive

This coming Saturday is the day that letter carriers on the Central and South Coasts will be picking up more than your mail.

Carriers in the region are taking part in the 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

In Ventura County, donated food will go to FOOD Share, which helps feed nearly 75,000 people a month. You can help by setting out a bag or two of non-perishable food items like pasta, rice, beans, and peanut butter for pickup. Carriers ask that you not leave items in glass containers, because of the danger of breakage.

The Ventura, East Ventura, Oxnard Main, and Thousand Oaks Main post offices will also accept food donations Saturday.
