Hundreds Of Central, South Coast Law Enforcement Officers Take Part In Special Olympics Torch Run

The 2019 Southern California Special Olympics Games are set to take place this weekend in Long Beach. But, this week a special event is taking place on the Central and South Coasts to raise awareness, and money for the Games. Hundreds of law enforcement officers are carrying one of the Games official torches.

A motorcade escorted runners from various public safety agencies as they carried the torch from Guadalupe to Lompoc Tuesday.

Wednesday, the run will start in Solvang, and travel through UC Santa Barbara, Goleta, Santa Barbara, and Carpinteria before arriving in Ventura County.

On Thursday, the run will start at Ventura City Hall, and move through Oxnard, Port Hueneme and other parts of the county before being handed off to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in Calabasas.
