Governor Sets Stage For Partial Reopening Of More Businesses

The governor set the stage for the reopening of some businesses shut down by the coronavirus crisis on the Central and South Coasts.  The details haven’t been announced yet, but some retailers could be able to start offering drive-up services on Friday.

Counties will have the option of taking advantage of the relaxation of the state guidelines, but it will be up to them.  Governor Newsom says it’s the latest step in what is a phased approach to the easing of health orders.

There’s a number of criteria counties have to meet to take part in the opening, like having sufficient hospital capacity in case there’s a surge in coronavirus cases.

As part of the roadmap for full reopening, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties continue to expand their testing capability.  While the governor’s plan is progress, places like offices, malls, and restaurants for in-person dining will still remain closed.
