Four new coronavirus related deaths have been reported on the Central and South Coasts, bringing the region’s total to 55.
Three of the latest deaths occurred in Ventura County, and one was in Santa Barbara County. Ventura County has had 38, Santa Barbara County 16, and San Luis Obispo County one. Most of those who died were older adults with preexisting health conditions.
There have been 3570 diagnosed coronavirus cases in the three counties.
Ventura County has 1404 cases, Santa Barbara County 1864, and San Luis Obispo 302 cases. About two thirds of Santa Barbara County's cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.
