Four New Coronavirus Related Deaths Reported On Central, South Coasts

Four new coronavirus related deaths have been reported on the Central and South Coasts Wednesday, bringing the region’s total to 288.  Santa Barbara County has had two additional deaths, and San Luis Obispo County two more as well.

There have been 146 coronavirus related deaths in Ventura County, 113 in Santa Barbara County and 29 in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of the deaths were older adults with pre-existing health conditions.

158 new coronavirus cases were reported in the region Wednesday, bringing the overall total to more than 24,800.  Ventura County has had 12,385, Santa Barbara County 8973, and San Luis Obispo County 3479.

There is some good news for San Luis Obispo County, where with social distancing, and other safety steps indoor dining is resuming, as well as the operation of movie theaters.

Improved coronavirus statistics for the county allowed it to move from the state’s most restrictive purple level to the red guidance level this week.
