Four new coronavirus related deaths have been reported on the Central and South Coasts. All four deaths were in Santa Barbara County.
There have now been 323 deaths in the region, with 165 in Ventura County, 126 in Santa Barbara County, and 32 in San Luis Obispo County. Most of the deaths were older adults with preexisting conditions.
The bright spot in the picture is the number of new cases. There were 86 in the three counties Tuesday, one of the lowest totals in days. Ventura County had 26 cases, Santa Barbara 43, and San Luis Obispo County 17.
Just over 28,200 cases have been reported in the region since the start of the pandemic. Eight Northern California counties moved to improved reopening tiers Tuesday, but Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties all remained in the red tier.
