A man is recovering after he was found unconscious inside of a structure during efforts to fight a fire on Wednesday.
The fire took place in the downtown Santa Barbara area near a fire station, and firefighters were quick to arrive at the scene.
Smoke and flames were coming from the building. The source of the fire was a garage and crawlspace on the back of the property.
The first firefighters found and moved the man to the driveway, where they worked to revive him and treat him for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported, and firefighters successfully protected the nearby structures until they put out the fire.
The cause is under investigation.
