An air tanker makes a run at what's being called the McMurray Fire

A brush fire has forced the evacuation of some ranches on the Central Coast, but firefighters have made progress towards stopping it. The 200 acre blaze is burning outside of Buellton, off of Highway 101 between Highways 154 and 246.

Santa Barbara County issued evacuation orders for some ranches northeast of Buellton. Firefighters aided by helicopters, and air tankers have been battling the fire since it was discovered at around 3:30 Monday afternoon.

While structures have been threatened, there’s no word of any being damaged.

The northbound 101 was closed between Highways 154 and 246 for about three hours, but is now open again to traffic.
