Firefighters Getting Upper Hand On Brush Fire In Central Santa Barbara County

Santa Barbara County firefighters are getting the upper hand on a 110 acre brush fire in the central part of the county.

The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. Friday on the 1000 block of Highway 246, west of Buellton. The blaze is burning in light grass. No structures are reported to be in immediate danger.

The fire is now 20% contained. Firefighters used helicopters and air tankers in their efforts to contain the blaze. Most of the aircraft have now been released from firefighting efforts.

There's no word yet on the cause of the blaze.
