Firefighters have finished mopup work at the scene of a brush fire in Ventura County which caused a lot of concern, but ultimately was stopped before it could cause damage.

The fire broke out just after four p.m. Wednesday off of Olsen Road in Simi Valley. It was on a hillside just southwest of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

The fire put up a huge column of smoke, and forced the closure of a section of Olsen Road for several hours.

More than 150 firefighters aided by helicopters and air tankers contained the blaze in about two hours. No structures were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
