Firefighters Do CPR, Save Some Chickens Trapped By Fire In Ventura County

Ventura County firefighters make all kinds of rescues, but they did some this week which will probably be talked about for a long time.  Some firefighters used CPR and oxygen to revive some chickens overcome by smoke.

Firefighters were called to Lemon Drive in Camarillo Thursday by reports of a fire.  They found a garage burning, but were quickly able to control the flames.

They discovered a number of chickens which were suffering from smoke inhalation.  Some were beyond help.

But, firefighters did CPR by hand on the some of the birds, and used small oxygen masks designed for children to successfully revive a number of them.
