Santa Ana winds kicked up as predicted Sunday in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, but firefighters were able to keep the 85,000 acre Woolsey brush fire from growing substantially.

The massive blaze is 15% contained.  Air tankers and helicopters were used during the day to try to stem flareups of the fire, which was focused in the Santa Monica Mountains.

More than 170 structures have been confirmed destroyed, and officials say they expect that number to rise as they do more complete inventories of neighborhoods.  They say they don't think any additional structures were lost on Sunday.

A sectio of Highway 101 in Agoura Hills which had been closed by the fire all weekend long reopened Sunday night.

The forecast calls for potentially strong Santa Ana wind conditions to continue in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties through Tuesday, with gusts in the 60 miles an hour range possible in mountain areas.

Meanwhile, the 4500 acre Hill Fire in Ventura County is 70% contained.
