Crews battling Pine Fire in Los Padres National Forest

A wildfire burning in a remote area of the Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County has scorched nearly 1,500 acres of land.

More than 300 firefighters are battling the Pine Fire located about 11 miles north of Ojai in the Sespe Wilderness. So far, there's no containment.

The fire started Thursday morning and continues to grow.  Authorities say heavy fuels and steep, inaccessible terrain are hampering firefighting efforts and causing the fire to further spread. Fire crews and supplies are being sent in by helicopter. Aircraft are dropping retardant.

No structures are reported to be in danger. However, there have been voluntary evacuations in the area south of Lockwood Valley Road near Camp Sheideck. Officials have closed Pine Mountain Recreational Area at Highway 33, Reyes Creek Campground, Reyes Creek Trail, Piedra Blanca Trail and Chorro Grande Trail.

No word on what caused the fire.
