A father and son from Calabasas died in a Sunday afternoon plane crash in eastern Ventura County

Authorities identified the two people who died in a weekend plane crash in Ventura County.

James Harlan and his 15 year old son, Dylan were killed when the light plane they were in crashed in the eastern end of the Santa Rosa Valley Sunday afternoon.

The plane plummeted into a horse corral on the 2700 block of Marvella Court. The two Calabasas residents were pronounced dead at the scene.

National Transportation Safety Board and FAA investigators are trying to determine what led to the crash.

It’s the second fatal plane crash in Ventura County in less than a week. Last Thursday, a plane crashed off of Highway 101 between Ventura and Santa Barbara, near Solimar Beach, killing its pilot.
