Efforts To Catch Domestic Violence Suspect Leads To Car Chase, Crash On South Coast

Police say efforts to catch a man involved in a domestic dispute on the South Coast led to a car chase, and the use of a Taser to arrest him. It started just after 11 Tuesday night in Oxnard, when a woman got into a fight with a man she said was her ex-boyfriend. She told 911 dispatchers that Christian Robledo rammed her car with another vehicle.

Oxnard Police spotted the car on Rose Avenue, which led to a chase. A few minutes later, the fleeing vehicle crashed into a parked car on Santa Clara Avenue. Officers say Robledo and a passenger fled on foot. The passenger was caught and arrested on obstruction charges. They say Robledo fought with them, but was arrested after a taser was deployed. The Oxnard man is facing several charges, including DUI, evading officers, and hit and run.
