Death of Ventura County Jail Inmate Now Being Called Homicide

Authorities now say the death of a Ventura County jail inmate is considered to be a homicide.

Sheriff’s Office officials say Tuesday morning, Jeffrey Kibler complained of medical problems to deputies.

The jail’s medical team determined the 53 year old Ventura man should be taken to a hospital. He died there Tuesday afternoon.

An autopsy determined the death was the result of an attack on Kibler at the county’s Pre-Trial Detention facilty, where he was being held. No arrests have been made.
