Coronavirus Death Toll Grows To 215 On Central, South Coasts

The number of new diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is on the low side compared with recent totals.

Ventura County reported 48 cases, Santa Barbara County 70 and San Luis Obispo 34.  Low numbers are essential for the three counties to get off of the state’s watch list.  The state is in the process of revising the criteria for meeting its guidelines, which might clear the way for more reopenings.

There have now been more than 20,700 diagnosed cases in the region, with most of those diagnosed with the virus already recovering.

Three additional coronavirus related deaths have been reported, including two in Ventura County and one in Santa Barbara County.  The total is 215.

There have been 105 deaths in Ventura County, 89 in Santa Barbara County and 21 in San Luis Obispo County.
