Congressional Committee Gives Approval To New VA Facility In Ventura County

A key congressional committee is supporting efforts by a Ventura County congresswoman to establish a consolidated outpatient facility for veterans in the county.

The House Veterans Affairs Committee yesterday okayed $6.2 million dollars for the VA facility.

Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley has been championing the effort.

A specific site hasn’t been proposed for the 47,000 square foot facility.

The idea is to expand services available for veterans in the county, so they don’t have to travel to Los Angeles for treatment.

The bill now goes to the full House of Representatives for consideration.
