Confirmed Coronavirus Case Count On Central And South Coasts Continues To Surge, Topping 8400 Mark

The number of diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coast continues to grow at a rate that has the region’s health officials concerned.

Nearly 200 new cases were reported Tuesday.  The total number surged past the 8400 mark, now standing at 8408 cases.

Ventura County is at 3858, with 69 new cases Tuesday.  Santa Barbara County is at 3742, with 87 additional cases. And, San Luis Obispo County is at 808 cases, up by 43.  Most of those diagnosed with coronavirus have already recovered.  Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties remain on the state’s watch list of counties which don’t meet all reopening criteria. 

There have been 82 coronavirus related deaths in the region, with Santa Barbara County reporting its 30th death Tuesday.
