Community Stunned Over Death Of South Coast Couple In Hit And Run Collision

There’s shock and sadness at a South Coast college campus over word that a campus administrator, and his wife were the victims of a weekend hit and run collision which left both of the dead. Adolfo Corral and his wife Mary Jane were walking near Cathedral Oaks and Winchester Canyon Roads Sunday night when they were hit. He died at the scene, and she died a short time later at a hospital.

Adolfo Corral was Santa Barbara City College’s Equity, Diversity, and Cultural Competency Coordinator. The campus offered support services for faculty, staff members and students trying to cope with the news. A “Go Fund Me” account was set up for the couple’s four children, who range from 10 to 20 years old.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Goleta man who is the suspected driver of the vehicle which hit the couple. 39 year old Eric Mauricio Ramirez Aguilar was taken into custody in Carpinteria Sunday night.
