Closure Of Condor Sanctuary In Los Padres National Forest Extended

Sespe Condor Sanctuary closure expanded

A Ventura County sanctuary which provides protection to endangered California Condors is going to remain closed to the public for at least another year.

The U.S. Forest Services has expanded the current closure of the Sespe Condor Sanctuary. The 53,000 acre sanctuary is in the Los Padres National Forest north of Fillmore. The area is popular habitat for the condors.

As in the past, people will be able to use roads passing through the sanctuary to access recreational areas, but the rest of the sanctuary is off limits to visitors.
